October 2019 Kendo Seminar and Shinsa
with Kato Sensei and Inoshita Sensei

FUDOKAN DOJO
Friday, 11 October 2019
Saturday, 12 October 2019
Fudokan is very excited to announce that we will be hosting Shozo Kato Sensei (Kyoshi 8 Dan) and Tsuyoshi Inoshita Sensei (kyoshi 7 Dan) for two seminars and a promotional examination (up to 3 Dan).

The Greater Northeastern United State Federation (GNEUSKF) promotional examination and the seminars will take place on October 12th at our usual location, Sidwell Friends Lower School.

SEMINARS
There are two kendo seminars, both lead by Shozo Kato Sensei:
  • Friday October 11th seminar will be from 6-9 PM for all levels. The gym will open at 5:30 PM on Friday and seminar with start on 6 PM sharp.
  • Saturday October 12th seminar will be from 11 AM–13 PM, for those who are ready to take their 4th Dan and up shinsa with focus on the necessary elements to pass promotional examinations. The gym will open at 10:30 AM on Saturday, with the seminar starting at 11 AM sharp. From 1:00 PM to 1:30 there will be time for a lunch break or free practice. Participants can bring their food or enjoy one of the many great restaurants within walking distance of the dojo.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of only two Sensei in the United States who has passed every rank in kendo. Kato Sensei, Inoshitsa Sensei and other kodansha Sensei will also provide their advice and feedback for participants of the mock shinsa.

SHINSA
Registration for shinsa starts at 1:00 PM and the testing will begin at 1:30 PM.

Time permitting, there will be a godo keiko after the testing has concluded. The security has asked that we clear out of the space by 4:00 PM at the latest.
